Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen – Embodied Yoga Explorations Master Workshop
Description Of Embodied Yoga Explorations Master Workshop
Discover an experiential approach to movement, body and consciousness.
In this live Master Workshop series with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, the founder of Body-Mind Centering®, you’ll be taken on a guided exploration of the personal embodiment of your cells, body systems and developmental patterns.
When yoga is practiced with full awareness from the body, it becomes transformed from a doing process to a being process – from putting our bodies in certain postures to freeing ourselves to open to postures as an enlivening experience. Body and mind are joined in harmony and increased flexibility, strength, and balance emerge naturally.
This series is comprised of four 90-minute video classes. In these four modules, we will explore how to do this by accessing key structures and principles of movement, including how to explore the body from the perspective of cellular consciousness. The first two modules will focus on the upper body and the second two will focus on the lower body.
What You’ll Learn In Embodied Yoga Explorations Master Workshop
- Module 1
We will begin in this module with awaking the cells of our lungs and respiratory tract through breathing and movement. This practice brings a deeper awareness and ease in our breathing. It also increases the flexibility, strength, and fluidity in the movement of our head, spine, and arms. Our asanas become filled with spaciousness and levity. - Module 2
In this module we will open to the cellular consciousness of our heart and its vascular extremities spiraling through the body. Through our cardiovascular circulation, all the cells in our body are in communication with each other. Our movement flows in a continuous stream and our asanas are filled with vitality and calm. - Module 3
In module 3, we will bring clarity of consciousness and ease to the lower spine and pelvis. We will explore the mobility of each pelvic bone, the pubic disk as the keystone between the two legs, and the sacrum as the keystone between the spine and legs. Our asanas are clearly articulated through our pelvis and hip joints. Our spine is soft and quiet, and we enter the spaciousness of our central channel. - Module 4
In this last module, we will bring awareness to our feet and forelegs. Through mobile feet, we continually adjust to subtle shifts of weight passing through the body. Our forelegs transfer spirallic lines of energy between our pelvic bones and the earth. Our asanas are rooted into and rise out of the earth.
