Learn to Harness the Sun!
Each day, millions of people across the globe greet the sun with a particular yoga flow and sequence called Surya Namaskar / Sun Salutations.
In Sanskrit, Namaskar is the more reverent version of Namaste – both having the same root word, Namas, which most closely equates to “bowing” or “homage.” In this way Surya Namaskar becomes our first greeting of the day, a homage, a bowing to the nourishing force for all life on this planet – the mighty sun.
From the Ayurvedic perspective, we will also look at Surya Namaskar in relation to our health – how this sequence can help in balancing the ida and pingala nadis, help us work with prana, and in shifting our emotional states.
In this immersion you will begin to deeply understand the history, importance, and benefits of Surya Namaskar while coming into deeper connection with your body and breath.
You will also begin to develop your own daily practice during this time with us so Surya Namaskar can become a gift you can give yourself each day you wake through 2022 and beyond!
Whether you see yourself as a beginner in your yoga journey or spend hours on your mat every day, this immersion will allow you to refine and deepen your own personal connection to your body, your life force, and your Surya Namaskar practice!
Come salute the sun with us!
