A good night’s sleep works magic on your physical health, mood, and mental clarity. More and more, scientists from the East and West, are proving how sleep is vitally important to a happy and healthy life. Roughly 60 million Americans are affected by sleep disorders each year. Few people realize just how debilitating sleep deprivation can be.

Good sleep transforms fatigue into vitality, emotional stress into inspiration, and mental turbulence into clarity and focus. In this workshop, Lee Holden helps transition from a hectic day, letting go of daily stress and replacing that tension with relaxation, tranquility, and inner peace.

In Qi Gong, we describe two kinds of energy – Yin and Yang. Yang energy is what we need to get things done, the energy of activity, work, and play. Yin is the energy of relaxation, meditation, and sleep. Sleep disorders in Chinese Medicine are often described as yin deficient. Meaning, when yin energy is depleted, people find it hard to sleep. This is why in Qi Gong it is said….
“Don’t go to sleep if you don’t have enough energy.”
If you are depleted of yin energy, it’s hard to fall asleep, the mind becomes overly active, and people tend to wake up after only a few hours of sleep.

About Lee Holden

Lee Holden first discovered the power of qi at the early age of 10 from his parents’ meditation lessons. He studied a variety of martial arts including Karate, Kung Fu, and Capoeira and had an early interest in Taoism, Qi Gong, and Chinese medicine. After college, he set out on a path of self-discovery in Asia, visiting China, Japan, and Indonesia to study with master teachers, and Thailand, where he was hired to write books for Qi Gong Master Mantak Chia.

Lee Holden then opened his own healing arts clinic in California and produced and created a series of educational Qi Gong DVDs. Those DVDs were picked up by American public television and have been shown in more than 50 million households on more than 105 PBS stations throughout the United States and Canada. He is currently working with WW, Inc. (formerly Weight Watchers) as a way to bring healthy movement and flowing practice to millions of members worldwide.

Lee Holden is the founder of Holden QiGong and holds teacher trainings in his accessible style of practice and training. His expertise, experience, and down-to-earth approach have made him a popular workshop facilitator, keynote speaker, and trainer.
