Steven Kessler – How to Create a Self
Description How to Create a Self
The Key to Self-Confidence and Success
A new video course taught by Steven Kessler, MFT Therapist, Teacher, and Author
Your lack of self-confidence is not your fault. You just haven’t learned the energetic skills you need. It’s time to learn those skills.
Of course, you want a stable, solid, felt sense of Self.
You want to know who you are.
You want to know what you want.
And you want to feel confident and able to get what you want.
But no one develops that self-confidence automatically. It is the result of learning and practicing a particular set of energetic skills —
- skills that most people are not aware of
- skills that most parents can’t teach you
- skills that you didn’t learn in school
- skills that you don’t learn in psychotherapy
Without these skills, you’re left wondering, “What’s wrong with me? Why are some things so hard for me? Why do I feel so weak inside? Why can’t I just pull it together and do what’s needed?”
You can learn these skills. They’re not difficult. They’re not complicated. All it takes is practice — if you have a guide who can show you the way.
Once you develop these skills, you will have a stable, felt sense of Self anchored in your body. This will give you:
- the actual sensation of your Self – the feel, the flavor, the note …
- clarity about what you feel, what you like, what you want
- a center, a place to operate from
- a place to come back to if you get lost or dissociated
When you can feel your Self directly this way, you will feel a fullness in the core of your body. You will literally feel full of yourself. You will be able to know yourself directly, to know for certain that you exist, here and now, in this physical reality. This will free you from needing validation from others. Acknowledgment and praise will still feel good, but you will no longer feel hollow without it.
In the How to Create a Self course, you will learn the energetic skills that you missed and still need to develop. In each module, you will learn a new skill. Each week, we will practice what you’ve learned so far, answer your questions, and practice a new skill. By the end of the 7-weeks, you will have all the skills you need to develop a strong, stable, felt sense of Self anchored in your body.
During the course, your sense of yourself will shift. You’ll discover why certain things have been so hard for you up to now and how to make them easier. As you practice, week to week, you’ll become more aware of where your attention is located, moment to moment, and where to place it to feel your Self more vividly. Gradually, you will build the skills you need to feel strong, confident, and capable in the world.
Here’s What You’ll Learn In How to Create a Self
During this fun, exciting course, you’ll discover:
- 2 techniques to calm and recenter yourself when upset
- the 7 skills needed to develop a strong, stable, felt sense of Self
- the importance of anchoring that sense of Self in the body
- how to protect yourself from other people’s energies
- how to fill your space with your own energy and remove other energies
- a daily practice to keep you centered, stable, and strong
- “A felt-sense of Core is the Key to Self-Confidence!”
You’ll explore 7 modules:
Module 1: Calming and Centering Your Body
We will begin by helping you come out of the distress and overwhelm that has been conditioned into your body. You’ll learn two techniques to calm your body and bring yourself back to your own inner center.
In module 1 you’ll discover:
- how to calm your body anytime, anywhere
- how to re-center yourself in 5 seconds
- how to turn these practices into embodied skills
Module 2: Establishing Your Core Self
Everyone’s first task in life is to settle into the body and attach to it, a process known as Embodiment. Until you accomplish this, you will never feel safe here in the physical world. Embodiment is the first step in creating a strong, stable, felt sense of Self.
In module 2 you’ll discover:
- a quick way to come back to Presence
- the skill called Core
- the value of Core in knowing who you are and what you want
- why Core is the key to self-confidence
- how to integrate this new skill into the skills you’ve already learned
Module 3: Connecting with Support
We all need to feel both connected to the Earth and supported by it. If you have not developed this energetic connection, you feel unsupported and unstable — like you don’t really belong here. You may be a ‘push-over’ or a ‘doormat’. People may say you’re ‘ungrounded’.
In module 3 you’ll discover:
- the skill called Ground
- the value of Ground in experiencing belonging and support here
- why Ground is the key to stability
- how core, ground, and self-care are key to your safety and success
- how to integrate this new skill into what you’ve already learned
Module 4: Protecting Your Space
After creating a center, you must also create an Edge, a Boundary around your personal space. Your own space, your bubble, must be defined and protected. Other people’s thoughts, feelings, and energies should not be floating in and filling it up.
In module 4 you’ll discover:
- the skill called Edge or Boundary
- the real reason some people are ‘too sensitive’ and how to fix it
- the value of a strong energetic Boundary
- why Boundary is the Key to Individuation
- how to integrate this new skill into what you’ve already learned
Module 5: Filling Your Space
Along with defining your space, you must Fill your Space with your own energy. Your space should be yours and yours alone. You must also bring home stray strands of your attention so that you can be fully present in the here and now.
In module 5 you’ll discover:
- the skills called Filling Your Space and Tying Your Fibers
- why some people constantly fear invasion and manipulation
- the value of Filling Your Space
- the value of Tying Your Fibers
- how Filling Your Space protects you from invasion
- how Tying Your Fibers stops you from invading others
- how to integrate these new skills into what you’ve already learned
Module 6: Cleaning Your Space
Finally, you must learn how to clean your space. You do this by differentiating what is you from what is not you and removing what is not you from your space. This will give you mental and emotional clarity. Ideally, your space should always be filled with your own energy and no one else’s. Without doing this, you will constantly feel confused about what is you and what is not.
In module 6 you’ll discover:
- the skill called Me/Not Me
- why some people think that the thoughts and feelings of others are their own
- the effects of confusing Me with Not Me
- the value of doing Me/Not Me
- how Me/Not Me supports Individuation
- how to integrate this new skill into the skills you’ve already learned
Module 7: Living from Your Core
Now it’s time to create the Daily Routine that will support you and sustain you as you develop and strengthen these skills over time. This Daily Routine is the key to embodying all these skills and becoming strong, confident, and capable.
In module 7 you’ll discover:
- how to integrate all that you’ve learned into a simple Daily Routine
- how to do this Routine even in times of distress
- the value of a Daily Routine
- why the only real knowledge is embodied knowledge
- how regular practice is the key to embodying these skills
